Terms of service

These terms form a contract between you and Strateal Oy, the Finnish company that operates Tokenforest.

By creating an account, accepting an invitation, enabling tree billing or using the service, you accept these terms. If you act for an organisation, you confirm that you may bind it. You must be at least 16 and legally able to enter this contract. If you do not accept these terms, do not use Tokenforest.

Tokenforest receives token-count metadata from supported AI tools, applies a published weighting and emissions method, and records progress towards funded trees. The service may include personal and team forests, reports, public profiles, integrations, billing tools and tree-funding fulfilment.

Calculations are estimates, not direct measurements of electricity use or emissions. Tree funding is not a verified carbon credit, offset, removal certificate or promise that a fixed amount of carbon will be stored. Read the methodology before making an environmental claim based on Tokenforest data.

• Give accurate account and billing information and keep it current.
• Keep passwords, connector tokens and sign-in links confidential.
• Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
• Organisation owners control memberships, public settings and billing choices and are responsible for their authorised users.
• You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by our breach of these terms or a duty imposed by law.

You must not:

• break the law or another person's rights through the service;
• send malware, abusive traffic or false usage events;
• probe, bypass or disrupt security, rate limits, billing or access controls;
• access another customer's account or data without permission;
• resell the service unless we agree in writing; or
• use Tokenforest to make a false or misleading environmental claim.

Reasonable testing of your own integration is allowed. Contact us before security research that could affect other users or production systems.

Tokenforest has no base subscription or seat fee. Each whole tree selected for paid planting costs USD 2. We calculate whole trees from measured usage during a monthly billing cycle, then add that quantity to the cycle's Stripe invoice.

You may leave tree billing uncapped, set a maximum number of trees for each cycle, or set the limit to zero to stop paid planting. The billing page shows the maximum charge for a finite limit. Usage still counts after the limit, but those additional trees are not billed or sent for planting.

Displayed prices exclude taxes unless Stripe says otherwise. You must pay any VAT, sales tax or other charge that applies. We may change the per-tree price for a future billing cycle after reasonable notice; you can cancel before the change takes effect.

Enabling tree billing saves a payment method for future off-session charges. You authorise Stripe and us to charge that payment method after each monthly cycle for the whole trees planted within your chosen limit, plus applicable taxes. A cycle with no billable trees has no tree charge. Failed payments may be retried.

You can cancel through the billing portal or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle unless the portal or applicable law states otherwise. Cancelling does not erase tree charges already due. Refunds remain available where the law requires them or where we expressly agree to one.

If we charge you incorrectly, contact hello@tokenforest.ai without undue delay. This does not limit statutory rights or payment disputes available under applicable law.

If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, you generally have 14 days from making the billing agreement to withdraw without giving a reason. When you ask Tokenforest to start during that period, you request immediate performance. If you withdraw after service has begun, we may charge a proportionate amount for the service supplied where the law allows. The right may end once the service has been fully performed with your prior express consent and acknowledgement.

To withdraw, email hello@tokenforest.ai before the deadline with your name, account email, order date and a clear statement that you withdraw. You may use this wording: "I give notice that I withdraw from my Tokenforest billing agreement made on [date]. Name: [name]. Account email: [email]. Date: [date]."

These terms do not remove any mandatory cancellation, refund, conformity or remedy rights given to consumers by applicable law.

You keep your rights in data you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive right to host, process, copy and display that data only as needed to provide, secure and support Tokenforest, follow your settings and meet the law. You confirm that you have the rights and notices needed to send the data to us.

Our Privacy policy explains how we handle personal data. The Data Processing Addendum applies when we processes personal data on behalf of a business customer.

We and our licensors own Tokenforest, including its software, site design, trademarks, documentation and methods, except for open-source components and your data. Subject to these terms, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the service during your account term.

If you send suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment. This does not transfer ownership of confidential material or personal data included in your message.

We may maintain, change or discontinue parts of Tokenforest. We will give reasonable notice before a change that materially reduces paid planting during its current cycle, unless urgent security, legal or provider action makes advance notice impractical.

We aim to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Third-party AI tools, payment services and tree-funding providers can change or fail outside our control. If a paid service is materially unavailable, contact us so we can investigate and provide any remedy required by law.

You may stop using Tokenforest at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these terms, create a security or legal risk, or fail to pay. Where practical, we will tell you why and allow a reasonable chance to cure the issue. We may act immediately for fraud, attacks, unlawful use or urgent harm.

On termination, your right to use the service ends. Terms on payment, ownership, liability, disputes and provisions that by nature should survive will remain in effect. Data is handled under the retention section of our Privacy policy.

To the extent permitted by law, Tokenforest is provided as available and without warranties not stated in these terms. We do not warrant a specific emissions result, tree survival rate, financial saving, public ranking or uninterrupted integration.

For business customers, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or data, or loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Our total liability arising from the service in a 12-month period is limited to the fees the customer paid for Tokenforest during that period.

Those exclusions and limits do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of confidentiality or data-protection duties where liability cannot lawfully be limited, or any mandatory consumer right. Nothing in these terms excludes a remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Finnish law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Finland have jurisdiction. A consumer may also rely on mandatory law and bring a claim in the courts of their home country where applicable.

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a complaint. Consumers in Finland may obtain guidance from the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority's Consumer Advisory Services. A consumer may refer a dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board.

We may update these terms for changes to the service, prices, providers or law. We will post the new version and effective date. For a material change to a paid service, we will give reasonable notice. Continuing to use Tokenforest after the stated date means you accept the revised terms; if you do not agree, cancel before they take effect.
